FRONT OF HOUSE MANAGER

Wild Things at Nature’s Corner, Mid-Norfolk
£32,000–£35,000 | Full-time | Permanent
Start ideally October 2026

Wild Things is a new kitchen, bakery and gathering space opening this November at Nature’s Corner, in the heart of the Wendling Beck landscape.

We’re building a place around brilliant seasonal food, sourdough, local produce, fire cooking and the landscape around us - somewhere relaxed, generous and full of life rather than formal or overly polished.

And we’re looking for an experienced Front of House Manager to help us build it.

THE ROLE

This is a hands-on role for someone who loves being on the floor, leading a team and making people feel genuinely looked after.

You’ll join us before opening, helping shape the service style, customer journey, FOH systems, recruitment and training. Once we’re open, you’ll take the lead on the day-to-day front of house operation.

Wild Things won’t be a conventional restaurant. There’ll be busy lunches, bakery customers, great coffee, retail, private dining, feasts, workshops and events - sometimes all happening under the same roof.

We want someone who finds that exciting.

YOU MIGHT BE RIGHT FOR THIS IF YOU…

  • Have strong restaurant, café or hospitality experience

  • Have managed or supervised a FOH team

  • Are confident running a busy service

  • Love hospitality but don’t need it to feel formal

  • Are organised, calm and good at solving problems

  • Enjoy training and bringing out the best in a team

  • Understand the importance of great communication between FOH and kitchen

  • Like good systems, without wanting everything to feel corporate

  • Want to be hands-on and involved

  • Care about seasonal food, local produce and independent hospitality

  • Would enjoy helping shape a new business from the beginning

Opening experience would be brilliant, but it isn’t essential.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

Before opening: helping us recruit and train the team, set up service systems, EPOS and bookings, organise FOH equipment and stations, test service and make sure we’re genuinely ready to open.

Once open: leading service, managing the FOH team and rotas, maintaining hospitality standards, managing bookings and customer issues, overseeing daily procedures and working closely with our kitchen and bakery teams.

You’ll work alongside Lola, leading the kitchen and food, and Richard, leading the bakery, as part of a small senior team.

WHAT WE WANT TO BUILD

Professional without being stiff.
Informal without being chaotic.
Generous without being over-serviced.

We want Wild Things to be a brilliant place to eat, but also a brilliant place to work. This role will have a real influence on the culture we create from day one.
